Kids Jiu-Jitsu At Your Home: Private Classes for Children Ages 4 to 13

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the foundation of everything we do at True Kombat Training. And the class happens right at your home: the instructor arrives with mats, equipment, and a plan made specifically for your child.

Your child learns to defend themselves, control their emotions, and feel more confident in their daily life. And you get to watch everything closely, without leaving the house.

Why Are So Many Parents Looking for Jiu-Jitsu for Their Kids?

Maybe you're worried about your child's safety at school. Maybe they are struggling with discipline, focus, or self-confidence. Or maybe your child spends too much time on screens and needs an activity that truly engages both body and mind.

These are the most common situations we hear from parents who reach out to us. And Jiu-Jitsu answers every single one of them.

Jiu-Jitsu teaches self-defense without encouraging violence. The child learns to react intelligently, escape dangerous situations, and maintain control under pressure. This changes their posture at school, with friends, and at home. And as a parent, you will notice the difference.

But taking your child to a gym doesn't always work. Tight schedules, commuting, crowded classes where the instructor can't give individual attention. It's frustrating to enroll your child in something and feel like they're just one more kid among twenty.

That's why the TKT model makes sense for so many families: private classes, at your home, with total focus on your child.

How Does Jiu-Jitsu Work for Each Age Group?

Ages 4 to 6

At this age, the focus is on developing motor coordination, balance, and body awareness. Classes use Jiu-Jitsu-based games and playful activities to keep the child engaged. Discipline is introduced naturally, without excessive rigidity. If you have a child in this age group, you'll see how they fall in love with training from the very first classes.

Ages 7 to 10

Here, the technical side of Jiu-Jitsu starts to deepen. The child practices positions, sweeps, and defenses with more consistency. At the same time, they work on emotional control, respect for rules, and the ability to handle frustration. This is the stage where parents see behavioral results most clearly.

Ages 11 to 13

In this phase, the student already has a solid foundation and begins to develop their own game. Classes become more challenging, focusing on autonomy, strategic thinking, and personal responsibility. Many parents report that this is the phase where their child's confidence takes a leap that reflects in all areas of life.

What Makes Our Jiu-Jitsu Program Different?

  • Methodology with 40 years of practice: The TKT Jiu-Jitsu program isn't just any course. It was developed over four decades and applied by Sensei Caio himself from ages 4 to 13. He lived the method before teaching it. For you as a parent, this represents the security of handing your child over to someone who knows the process inside out.
  • Four pillars of development: Every class works on more than just technique. Our program operates in four areas: physical, psychological, social, and cultural development. Jiu-Jitsu is the vehicle. The goal is to shape a well-rounded child, and that is what parents see over time.
  • Certification for neurodivergent kids: Sensei Caio is certified by Professor Felipe Nilo to work with children on the autism spectrum. Jiu-Jitsu acts as a powerful tool for sensory integration, focus, and motor development in these children. If your child has specific needs, we are prepared.
  • Assessment and report every 13 classes: You are never left in the dark about your child's progress. After every cycle, Sensei Caio personally reassesses the student and delivers a detailed report highlighting the observed advancements and next steps. It's the most transparent way for you to track your child's evolution.
  • Belt promotion at your home: At the end of every complete cycle, the child has their grading and receives a new stripe or belt. And this happens right in your living room, with the family present. It is a moment of celebration that reinforces the student's commitment to their own progress, and one that parents love to witness.

  • Initial assessment at your home: Sensei Caio personally goes to your residence. He trains with the child, observes their motor and emotional profile, and then talks with you to align expectations and goals.
  • Personalized training plan: Based on the assessment and the conversation with the parents, we build a Jiu-Jitsu program adapted to the student's level, pace, and personality. Classes happen weekly.
  • The instructor comes to you: The instructor arrives with professional mats and all the gear. You don't need to have anything at home. You just need a space (and most residences have plenty of it).
  • Continuous evolution: Every 13 classes, there is a reassessment, a progress report, and a belt promotion. The child sees their evolution concretely, and you follow every achievement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kids Jiu-Jitsu At Home

Is Jiu-Jitsu safe for 4-year-olds?

Yes. Classes for young children use adapted games and exercises. There is no heavy sparring or situations that put the child at risk. Their pace is respected, and physical contact is always supervised. You can watch the class and see it with your own eyes.

My child is very shy. Does Jiu-Jitsu help?

It's one of the areas where we see the most results. One-on-one training allows the child to develop without the pressure of a large group. Confidence grows class after class, and parents notice the change quickly.

What is the difference between Jiu-Jitsu at TKT and at a gym?

At a gym, the instructor divides their attention among several students and follows a generic lesson plan. Here, the plan is made specifically for your child, at their pace, with personalized guidance and progress reports delivered right to your hands.

Does the child need a uniform (gi) to start?

No. For the first few classes, the child can train in comfortable workout clothes. If you'd like, you can purchase the official TKT uniform from our online store.

How many times a week are the classes?

The standard program runs with one weekly class. This allows the child to absorb the content, maintain consistency, and build the habit without overwhelming the family's routine.

Can my child train with a sibling or friend?

Yes. Sessions can accommodate up to 4 children. Training in pairs or small groups is great for social development and makes the class even more fun. Many parents organize this with neighbors or school friends.
